Archery Game Online: how to play
Archery is a free archery game online with Robin, a friendly fox in a feathered cap. Pull back the bow, let go and watch the arrow fly in a curve to the round target: the closer to the gold bullseye, the more points. It is a bow and arrow game with new targets every day, the same for everyone, from a sunny meadow to a castle green.
How to play
- Archery game online, the quick version: drag back from anywhere on the game and let go to shoot. The arrow flies the opposite way to your drag, and the further you pull, the stronger the shot. The dotted line shows the start of the arrow's curve and the bar over Robin shows the power.
- With a keyboard, press ↑ and ↓ (or W and S) to raise or lower the bow, ← and → (or A and D) for less or more power, and Space or Enter to shoot.
- Hit the target anywhere to clear it. The board is seen from the side, so how high the arrow lands decides the ring: gold bullseye 100, red 80, blue 60, black 40, white 20. Fruit on a post counts as a bullseye.
- An arrow in the grass, in a post or flying past costs one of your three hearts, and you try the same target again with your aim kept, so you can nudge it. Holding an arrow on the string for 15 seconds also costs a heart.
- Points: the ring times your streak of hits in a row without a miss (up to ×5), 50 for each bonus balloon the arrow pops on the way, and a level bonus of 200 times the level number. Three stars per level: clear it, keep all your hearts, and pop every bonus balloon.
The five levels
- Meadow Range: three still targets close by, with a long aim line
- Orchard Lane: a breeze pushes the arrow left or right, and the aim dots don't show it
- Windmill Hill: far targets high up on hay bales, and smaller boards
- Lakeside Fair: the targets ride up and down a striped pole, so time your shot
- Castle Green: apples, oranges and pears on posts (hit the fruit, not the post), plus breezes, far targets and riding targets
Clear Castle Green and the five places come round again with new targets: lap 2 has smaller targets and a shorter aim line, and lap 3 smaller and shorter still. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- After a miss the aim stays where it was: change the power or the angle just a little.
- Only the height of the hit counts, so watch where the arrow crosses the board and nudge the aim up or down.
- In a breeze blowing towards Robin, pull a little harder; with the breeze behind him, a little softer.
- At Lakeside Fair, watch the target ride up and down a couple of times before you let go.
Questions
Is Archery free?
Yes. Archery is a free archery game you play online in your browser: no download, no sign-up and nothing to buy.
Can I play the archery game online on my phone?
Yes. Drag back on the screen with your finger and let go to shoot. It works on phones, tablets and computers; on an upright phone the field fills the tall screen.
How do I hit a bullseye?
The gold middle of the board is the bullseye and scores 100. Watch where your arrow lands, then nudge the angle or the power a little until it lands right in the middle.
What do you shoot at?
Only round target boards, balloons and fruit on posts, never people or animals. Robin the fox keeps the score and cheers every hit.
