Typing Run: how to play

A typing game at a runner's pace. Mogi races down a neon street while crates, cones, barrels and drones roll in, each carrying a word. Type the word to zap the obstacle before it reaches Mogi. The words come from Mogi's twelve Word Search themes, and each level adds one twist, from longer words to fast drones and hidden letters.

How to play

• Type a word on your keyboard, or tap the on-screen keys on a phone. The first letter picks the word: no two words on screen start with the same letter.
• Finish the word and Mogi zaps it. A wrong letter doesn't cost a heart, but it breaks your combo.
• If an obstacle reaches Mogi, you lose one of your three hearts. It still counts toward the level, so the run goes on.
• Zap the level's set of obstacles to move on: 10 in Neon City, up to 14 in the Glitch Zone.
• Each word scores 10 points a letter × the level number × your combo (up to ×10). The end card shows your words per minute.
• Every letter types, so press Esc (or the SOUND button) to turn the sound off or on. Enter starts a run.

The five levels

1. Neon City: short words of 3 to 5 letters
2. Rooftops: longer words, 5 to 7 letters
3. Sewer: more obstacles at once: start any word and finish it
4. Robot Factory: red drones fly in twice as fast
5. Glitch Zone: some letters show as ? until the word is halfway across

Clear the Glitch Zone and the levels loop again with every obstacle a quarter faster. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press Esc to turn the sound off or on.

Tips

• Once you start a word you have to finish it, so pick the closest one first.
• Zap the red drones early: they cover the street twice as fast.
• Accuracy beats speed. Every slip resets your combo.
