Candy Catch: how to play

Candy Catch is a free candy catch game for Halloween. Wisp, a friendly marshmallow ghost, floats along with a pumpkin basket while candy falls from the night sky. Move Wisp left and right to catch it, keep every gold candy safe and stay out of the rain. Each level asks for more candy, falls faster and adds one new thing.

How to play

• Press ← and → (or A and D) to move Wisp. With a mouse, just move it over the game; on a phone or tablet, drag your finger across the screen. The LEFT and RIGHT buttons under the game work too.
• Catch candy in the pumpkin basket. Catch the same colour several times in a row for a colour run: each candy is worth more, up to ten times. Dropping a candy ends the run.
• Gold candy keeps your run going, but never let one fall: a dropped gold candy costs one of your three hearts.
• A raindrop in the basket also costs a heart. Wisp blinks for a moment afterwards, safe from the next one.
• Fill the basket with enough candy to clear the level (15 on the first, 28 on the last). Three stars per level: clear it, clear it with no hearts lost, and catch a colour run of five.

The five levels

1. Pumpkin Patch: plain candy and gold candy
2. Candy Lane: raindrops: dodge them
3. Owl Woods: wrapped sweets that wobble as they fall
4. Moon Hill: friendly bats wave hello and nudge the candy sideways
5. Star Castle: star candy worth lots, plus everything before

Clear Star Castle and the five places come round again: lap 2 drops the candy faster and closer together, and lap 3 faster still. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.

Tips

• Watch the colours coming down: following one colour builds a big run.
• Go for the gold candy first, then pick up the candy around it.
• Raindrops fall faster than candy. Step aside early and let them pass.
• Wrapped sweets swing to and fro: wait under the middle of the swing.
