Snake Game: how to play

The classic snake game, rebuilt. Steer Kip around the board, eat the glowing bits and watch the tail grow. Each level adds one new twist, from warp gaps to glitching food.

How to play

• Steer with the arrow keys or WASD, swipe on a phone, or use the on-screen pad.
• Eat glowing bits to grow and score. Eat several quickly for a combo.
• Don't hit the walls, the pipes or your own tail. A hit costs one of your three hearts.
• Fill the progress bar to reach the next level.

The five levels

1. Neon City: classic walls
2. Rooftops: warp gaps: leave one side, come back on the other
3. Sewer: pipes block the way
4. Robot Factory: Mogi batteries for big bonus points
5. Glitch Zone: the bits jump around every few seconds

Clear the Glitch Zone and the zones loop again with warp gaps, pipes, batteries and jumping bits all at once, at top speed. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.

Tips

• Keep to the edges early and leave the middle open as the tail grows.
• Plan a route back out before you turn into a tight corner.
• Grab batteries when they appear: they are worth far more than bits.
