Halloween Jigsaw Puzzles: how to play
Halloween jigsaw puzzles online, free and new every day: five cosy Halloween pictures, from a pumpkin patch under a big moon to a friendly castle full of stars, with the Night Crew hiding in every one. Patch the calm white pumpkin keeps you company under the board and gives you tips.
How to play
- Play these Halloween jigsaw puzzles online by tapping a piece in the tray under the board, then the square where it belongs. Or drag it straight there.
- The right piece in the right square locks in. A wrong square costs 3 seconds off the clock and breaks your combo.
- The finished picture shows faintly on the board, like the picture on a jigsaw box. It fades level by level and is gone on Moon Hill, then comes back faintly at the Star Castle.
- Star Castle: pieces come turned. Tap a picked-up piece again (or press R) to spin it a quarter turn. It only fits the right way up.
- Keyboard: N picks the next piece, arrow keys move around the board, Enter places it.
- Each puzzle has a clock. If it runs out you lose one of three hearts and the clock refills. Place pieces right one after another for a combo (up to ×10).
The five levels
- Pumpkin Patch: 12 pieces: pumpkins under a big moon, with the picture showing on the board
- Candy Lane: 20 pieces: lit houses with candy bowls; a wrong square costs 3 seconds
- Owl Woods: 30 pieces: owls on the branches, and the picture is fading
- Moon Hill: 42 pieces of waving bats and a big moon, with no picture to copy
- Star Castle: 30 pieces, all turned, and the faint picture is back
Clear Star Castle and the five places loop again with new pictures and one second less on the clock for every piece. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Edge pieces have one flat side and corners have two: find them first.
- Start with the pieces that have the most going on: the moon, the Night Crew, lit windows and lanterns.
- Plain sky pieces are hardest. Leave them for last, when only a few squares are free.
