Halloween 2048: how to play
Halloween 2048 is a free Halloween 2048 game online, hosted by Sweep, a busy little broom who tidies everything into piles. It is the slide-and-merge number puzzle with a Halloween twist: every tile is a treat that grows when two the same meet, from a wrapped sweet (2) to a lollipop, candy corn, cupcake, toffee apple, pumpkin (64), lantern, owl, ghost, moon (1024) and the star castle (2048). The number stays small on every tile, so you always know what merges.
How to play
- Slide with the arrow keys or WASD, swipe, or use the pad. Every tile moves together, and Sweep sweeps along.
- Two tiles that are the same merge into the next treat, worth double: two sweets (2) make a lollipop (4), two pumpkins (64) make a lantern (128).
- From Candy Lane on, a sparkle sometimes appears: it doubles any tile it slides into.
- From Owl Woods on, leaf piles block a square for 12 moves, then Sweep tidies them away. The little number shows the moves left.
- When no move is left you lose a heart, and Sweep tidies four tiles away (leaf piles first, then the smallest treats) so you can keep going.
- Merge on move after move for a combo, up to ×10. A move made when the board is full is a close call worth 25 bonus points. Three stars per level: reach it, reach it without losing a heart, and reach it under the target time.
The five levels
- Pumpkin Patch: make a pumpkin (64)
- Candy Lane: make a lantern (128): sparkles appear
- Owl Woods: make an owl (256): leaf piles appear
- Moon Hill: make a ghost (512): merge every move for a combo
- Star Castle: make a moon (1024): two new tiles each move
Clear the Star Castle and the five levels loop again, each needing a treat twice as big: the star castle (2048), then the comet (4096), and on. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Keep your biggest treat in one corner and build towards it.
- Save the sparkle for your biggest treat.
- Read the small number in the corner: the same number is always the same treat.
- Leaf piles go away by themselves, so build around them.
