Halloween Hidden Object Game: how to play
Halloween Hidden Object is a free online Halloween hidden object game: a cosy Halloween scene is full of things, and you have a list of six to ten of them to find before the clock runs out. A little ghost hides in every scene, so it is a find the ghost game too. Sniff, a fluffy wolf pup with a nose for finding things, sits in the corner, cheers you on and sniffs things out when you are stuck. Every day brings five new scenes with new hiding places, the same for everyone.
How to play
- Look at the list next to the picture (under it on an upright phone): each thing has a picture and its name.
- Find a thing in the scene and tap or click it. It flies to the list and gets a gold tick. Things can be anywhere: in the sky, in the trees, on a doorstep or in the grass.
- With a keyboard, move the cursor with the arrow keys or WASD and press Space or Enter to tap there.
- A wrong tap costs 3 seconds, so look before you tap.
- Stuck? Press H or the SNIFF button and Sniff sniffs out the next thing on the list: a trail of puffs leads to it and a ring shows where it is. You get two sniffs a level, and each one costs 50 points.
- Each thing you find is worth 100 points. Find them all to clear the level: 100 points times the level number, plus 10 for every second left. If the clock runs out you lose one of your three hearts and get some time back; lose all three and the run ends.
- Three stars per level: find everything, keep all your hearts, and beat the target time.
The five levels
- Pumpkin Patch: six big things to find in a moonlit pumpkin field
- Candy Lane: seven things on a busy street full of sweets
- Owl Woods: eight things, and some of them are tilted
- Moon Hill: nine things, and some peek out from behind other things
- Star Castle: ten small things, tilted and tucked away
Clear Star Castle and the scenes loop: lap 2 brings new hiding places with smaller things, less time on the clock and double points. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Read the whole list first, then sweep the scene once from top to bottom.
- Some things fly or float, like the bat, the kite and the balloon: look up in the sky and the trees.
- From Moon Hill on, look round the edges of pumpkins, friends and bushes for a thing peeking out.
- A sniff costs less than a lost heart, so use one when the clock gets low.
