Jigsaw Puzzles Online: how to play
Daily jigsaw puzzles with a new night-city picture for every level: a glowing skyline, neon signs, balloons, rockets and fireworks in the sky, and Mogi, Kip and Bruno on the street, all cut into square pieces. The puzzles grow from 12 pieces to 42 while the faint picture on the board fades away, and in the Glitch Zone every piece comes turned.
How to play
- Tap a piece in the tray under the board, then tap the square where it belongs. Or drag it straight there.
- The right piece in the right square locks in. A wrong square costs 3 seconds off the clock and breaks your combo.
- The finished picture shows faintly on the board, like the picture on a jigsaw box. It fades level by level and is gone in the Robot Factory, then comes back faintly in the Glitch Zone.
- Glitch Zone: pieces come turned. Tap a picked-up piece again (or press R) to spin it a quarter turn. It only fits the right way up.
- Keyboard: N picks the next piece, arrow keys move around the board, Enter places it.
- Each puzzle has a clock. If it runs out you lose one of three hearts and the clock refills.
- Place pieces right one after another for a combo (up to ×10).
The five levels
- Neon City: 12 pieces, with the picture showing on the board
- Rooftops: 20 pieces: a wrong square costs 3 seconds
- Sewer: 30 pieces: the picture is fading
- Robot Factory: 42 pieces and no picture to copy
- Glitch Zone: 30 pieces, all turned, and the faint picture is back
Clear the Glitch Zone and the levels loop again with new pictures and one second less on the clock for every piece. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Start with the pieces that have the most going on: the bright pictures and the gang member.
- Use the skyline: lit windows and rooftops line up across neighbouring pieces.
- Plain sky pieces are hardest. Leave them for last, when only a few squares are free.
Questions
Is there a new jigsaw every day?
Yes. The pictures change every day, and everyone gets the same ones, so you can compare scores.
What happens if I put a piece in the wrong place?
It doesn't stay there: the clock loses 3 seconds and your combo starts again. A dragged piece goes back to the tray; a tapped one stays picked up so you can try another square.
How do I turn a piece?
In the Glitch Zone, tap a piece you've already picked up to turn it a quarter turn, or press R.
Is it free?
Yes. Jigsaw is free in your browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download.
