Flag Quiz: how to play
Flag Quiz is a quick geography game. Mogi is flying round the world in a little plane, and every flag you name moves the plane closer to the next stop. See a flag, pick the country from the big answer buttons, and get enough right before the level clock runs out. It starts with famous flags and travels through Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania, and Africa, with capital city questions joining in on the way. Everyone gets the same questions each day.
How to play
- Look at the flag and tap the country it belongs to. On a computer the number keys 1 to 6 pick an answer too.
- From the Sewer on, some questions show a flag and a country and ask for its capital city instead.
- Each level needs a set number of right answers before its clock runs out. The clock waits while an answer is shown.
- A wrong answer costs one of your three hearts, and the right answer lights up in green so you learn it. If the clock runs out you lose a heart too, and the clock starts again.
- Right answers in a row build a streak: each one scores more, up to ten times. Some answers come with a short flag fact.
- Three stars per level: clear it, clear it without losing a heart, and clear it under the target time.
The five levels
- Neon City: famous flags from around the world: 6 right in 45 seconds
- Rooftops: Europe: lots of stripes, look closely
- Sewer: the Americas, and capital city questions join in
- Robot Factory: Asia and Oceania, with look-alike flags as wrong answers
- Glitch Zone: Africa and the whole world, with six choices
Clear the Glitch Zone and the five levels loop with six choices everywhere, two more right answers needed per level each lap (up to four more) and 15% less time on the clock each lap. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Check which way the stripes run and which colour is next to the pole: Ireland is green at the pole, Côte d'Ivoire orange.
- Count stars and stripes on look-alikes: Malaysia's flag has 14 stripes, Liberia's has 11.
- Poland is white over red, Indonesia red over white.
- Missed one? The right answer is shown in green. The questions stay the same all day, so the next try goes better.
