Hidden Object Games Online: how to play
Hidden Object is a free hidden object game you play online, right in your browser. Each scene is a calm, detailed picture full of things, and you have a list of six to ten hidden objects to find before the clock runs out. Spike, a thoughtful hedgehog detective in a tweed cap, keeps you company from the corner and gives you a clue when you are stuck. His pocket watch is hidden somewhere in every scene. There are five new scenes every day, from a cosy study to an attic library, and they are the same for everyone.
How to play
- Find the hidden objects on the list beside the picture (under it on an upright phone): each one has a picture and its name.
- Tap or click a thing in the scene to find it. It moves to the list and gets a gold tick. Things can be anywhere: on a shelf, on the wall, in the sky, among the crates or on the floor.
- With a keyboard, move the cursor with the arrow keys or WASD and press Space or Enter to tap there.
- A wrong tap costs 3 seconds, so take a good look before you tap.
- Stuck? Press H or the CLUE button: Spike's magnifying glass glides to the next thing on the list and a ring shows where it is. You get two clues a level, and each one costs 50 points.
- Each thing you find is worth 100 points. Find them all to clear the level: 100 points times the level number, plus 10 for every second left. If the clock runs out you lose one of your three hearts and get some time back; lose all three and the run ends.
- Three stars per level: find everything, keep all your hearts, and beat the target time.
The five levels
- Cosy Study: six big things to find among the books, the desk and the armchair
- Garden Shed: seven things in a busier scene of plant pots, tools and jars
- Seaside Cafe: eight things on a terrace by the sea, and some of them are tilted
- Market Stall: nine things among crates of fruit and buckets of flowers, and some peek out from behind them
- Attic Library: ten small things, tilted and tucked away among trunks, lamps and books
Clear Attic Library and the scenes loop: lap 2 brings new hiding places with smaller things, less time on the clock and double points. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Read the whole list first, then sweep the scene slowly from top to bottom.
- Things that fly or float, like the butterfly, the kite and the balloon, stay up high: look along the top of the picture first.
- From the Market Stall on, look round the edges of crates, baskets and plant pots for a thing peeking out.
- Spike's pocket watch is on every list, so it is a good one to look for first.
- A clue costs less than a lost heart, so use one when the clock gets low.
Questions
Is Hidden Object free?
Yes. Hidden Object is free to play online in your browser, with nothing to buy, no download and no sign-up.
Can I play hidden object games on my phone?
Yes. On an upright phone the scene fills the width of the screen and the list sits under it; just tap what you find. It works on phones, tablets and computers.
What is a seek and find game?
A seek and find game, also called a hidden object game, gives you a busy picture and a list of things hidden in it to find one by one. Here a gentle clock keeps it lively, and Spike can point the way when you are stuck.
Is something hidden in every scene?
Yes. Spike's pocket watch is tucked away somewhere in every scene, so it is always on your list, along with the other things.
