Coloring Games: how to play
Coloring is one of our free coloring games online, made for little artists and their grown-ups. It plays like a coloring pages game with numbers: pick a paint pot, then tap the spots that show its number. Crayo, a cheerful crayon, cheers you on through five friendly places, from Sunny Farm to Rainbow Castle, with cute pictures of animals, toys, treats and more.
How to play
- This is color by number: tap a paint pot at the bottom (or press 1 to 9), then tap every spot in the picture that shows the same number. The right paint spreads into the spot with a sparkle.
- Tapping a spot with the wrong paint costs one of your three hearts, and Crayo tells you which number it wants. Right after an oops there is a moment when another wrong tap costs nothing, so you never lose two hearts at once.
- When a paint has no spots left, its pot gets a tick and Crayo picks the next paint for you. Stuck? After a few seconds Crayo shows you a spot to try.
- When a picture is finished you get a short free color moment: paint any spot with any of the picture's paints, then press NEXT (or N) or wait for the next picture.
- With a keyboard, move between spots with the arrow keys and press Space to paint. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
- Points: 10 for each spot, 100 for each finished picture and a level bonus of 200 times the level number. From Toy Town on, every spot in a row without an oops adds a streak bonus. Three stars per level: finish it, keep all your hearts, and beat the target time on the clock.
The five levels
- Sunny Farm: two pictures with 3 paints and 7 to 9 big spots, each with a color dot and a number
- Toy Town: 4 paints and about 10 spots, and the streak bonus for coloring without an oops
- Picnic Park: 5 paints and up to 14 spots, some of them tiny, like sprinkles and cherries
- Ocean Bay: 6 paints and 15 spots, and the spots show only their numbers, without color dots
- Rainbow Castle: 7 paints and 17 spots in each picture
Clear Rainbow Castle and the five places come round again, each starting with the picture you have not colored yet today, and from then on every spot shows only its number, without color dots. You have three hearts for the whole run, and the game is
the same for everyone each day, so you can compare scores. Press M to turn the sound off or on.
Tips
- Look at the dot around each number: in the first three places its color shows you the paint.
- Paint one color at a time. The spots for the chosen paint gently pulse, so they are easy to find.
- Tap right on the number when a spot is small: a tap close to a number always counts for that spot.
- Slow and steady wins the stars. The clock never ends a picture; it only sets the target time.
Questions
Is Coloring free?
Yes. Coloring is free to play online in your browser: no download, no sign-up and nothing to buy.
Can kids play these coloring games on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The paint pots are big round buttons under the picture, and every spot can be tapped with a finger. It works on phones, tablets and computers.
Is it a color by number game?
Yes. Every spot shows a number, and each paint pot has a number too. Match them to finish the picture. In the first three places a color dot around each number helps younger players.
Is there a time limit?
No. You can take as long as you like. The clock only decides the third star of each level, so little ones are never hurried.
